This site is one of my favorites for beautifully designed and styled spaces. I saw this picture on a home tour of the designer's home, and it inspired the first piece Clay built at my request ( the desk pictured above!). I love the pattern of the wallpaper, the warmth of the wooden pieces, the chalkboard (duh.), and the overall "industrial but chic" look. Click the link for more incredible spaces to tour!

A must have for every home office is abundant storage. I love how Emily transformed her rarely used formal dining room into a great workspace with the addition of these custom built-ins. Love the use of the farmhouse table as a desk as well...we can help you out if you do too ;).

Kate at Centsational Girl took three Ikea pieces and totally transformed them to look like very $$$ custom built-ins! Find the tutorial through the link below the picture. Organization is key with open storage like this. The mix of seagrass and wire baskets provides contrast, while the all white binders gives the space some singularity. And can we discuss the awesome brass sconces above the shelf? Love them! I would be productive in this space, I'm sure of it.

You don't have to dedicate an entire room to your home office. This secretary painted a happy hue can serve your purposes just as well. This piece would work perfectly nestled into the corner of a living or dining area.

Speaking of non traditional office spaces, a new trend that I love is dedicating a spot in the kitchen for use as an office. The kitchen is usually the hub of most activities in the home anyway, so having your reminders and computer nearby can help with figuring out who needs to be where and when. Anyone else have trouble with that? Just me?
